Location
Johannesburg, South Africa is the cultural and economic hub of South Africa. Brought to industrial life during the Gold Rush, this city has deep historical ties. It currently houses majority of the country’s population with people from all over the world inhabiting the city.
The Noname Book Club is a Black-led abolitionist space that prioritises Black voices. The creator of Partial Arts, Khensi, facilitates the Joburg chapter, essentially leading discussions on the book of the month and encouraging open and free discussion.
The club meets on the last Saturday of every month at The Commune, which is a Pan-African bookshop and event space in Braamfontein that also serves as the home of independent South African publisher, Inkani Books.
Visit the Noname Book Club website for more information and subscribe to our Patreon to support our international chapters, helping us reach our goal of opening Radical Hood Libraries across the globe, and opposing the prison industrial complex.
